As a mother, Princess Mary considers anti-bullying a very important movement which is why her own charity, The Mary Foundation, joined forces with Save The Children Denmark to launch the Free of Bullying Project.

Over the weekend the former Tasmanian resident participated in the anti-bullying event, in the stunning Aarhus Botanical Gardens.

The mother-of-four cheered on Danish kids as they joined in on a fun-run. After it ended she presented the participants with medals and one lucky girl even received a crown from the Princess, making for a very touching moment.

Afterwards, the 43-year-old was joined on stage by a big purple bear and gave an up-lifting speech to the crowd about the importance kindness.

With primary school aged children, Prince Christian, nine, Princess Isabella, eight and five year-old twins, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, anti-bullying is a cause close to her heart.

Thanks to Mary, the Free Bully Project is implemented in one in three preschools across Denmark and focuses on tackling bullying through prevention.

Staying true to her Australian roots, the Crown Princess gained inspiration for the project from Victorian based charity The Alannah and Madeline Foundation, which aims to keep children safe from violence.

The Free of Bullying Project is one of the 10 charities Mary divides her time between, all of which were launched through The Mary Foundation.
