Chris Martin is reportedly attempting to win back Jennifer Lawrence by “saying all the right things” after she cooled things off between them after four months of dating.
There was recently believed to be trouble in paradise for the relatively new romance between Coldplay front man (and Gwyneth Paltrow’s ex) Chris Martin, 37 and Oscar winning actress Jennifer Lawrence.
A source told UK’s Grazia magazine that it was Jen who did the dumping: “Jen cooled things with Chris because she thought he was keeping his options open and wanted to have his cake and eat it.”
Jen stepped out solo on the red carpet in London this week for the world premiere of the latest Hunger Games instalments: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 – with no sign of the British singer on her arm. It’s reported though that he is desperate to win her back.
The source continued: “Chris has been saying all the right things to Jen. He said he’d support her through the Hunger Games tour (unlike this garment) and make her a priority.”
Jen was said to be particularly concerned with Chris’s ex of over ten years Gwyneth, whom he split with in March but who is apparently still extremely close to him.
In fact, it was even reported that controlling Gwyneth had drawn up a schedule to balance Chris’s time between anyone he may be dating and time spent with their kids, Apple, 10 and Moses, 8.
“Chris made lots of promises about issues that bothered Jen. He said she could meet his children and that he would make more time for her. He assured Jen that she didn’t need to deal with romantic dinners with Gwyneth – it’s definitely turning point for them.”
Jen and Chris have been linked together for four months now after they started dating in July.
Although neither Jen nor Chris have publicly confirmed that they are together, Jen was recently rather tellingly spotted wearing a “Love” button of the signature style that Chris is known for.
Friends have apparently warned her not to let Chris’s smooth-talking totally seduce her though: The source also said: “Friends have warned Jennifer that Chris may just be saying what she wants to hear. She has agreed to keep seeing Chris and see what happens – she wants things to work but she’s very much in control.”
It sounds like right now though that Jen is simply just keeping her options open!
