Finally, after months of speculation, it has been confirmed that Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz are engaged!
Woman’s Day first reported the lovebirds were set to tie the knot back in August and it seems the pair are finally ready to make an official announcement.
Benji popped the question a few nights ago a close pal tells People and the pair couldn’t be happier!
“All of Benji’s friends are aware and happy for him,” the source said.
Keeping with tradition, the 35-year-old rocker asked Cameron’s family for her hand in marriage when he spent time with them in Florida earlier this year.
“Her mom is a fan of him as well and gave her blessing,” the source said.
“Since she started dating Benji, Cameron has changed in a very positive way.
“She can’t stop smiling and seems much happier.”
Cameron has been spotted wearing a huge diamond on her ring finger of late, which only confirms that the pair are set to wed in 2015!
The pair met through Benji’s twin brother Joel Madden’s wife Nicole Richie who says she set them up.
While Cameron hasn’t officially opened up about their engagement just yet, she did open up about her relationship in the January issue of Cosmopolitan.
“If you get into a relationship where you want something the guy doesn’t want, it’s never gonna work,” she said. “You’re never going to get him to be in that place. No matter how old you are, finding the guy who’s in the same place as you are and wants to show up is the only way a relationship works, period.”
