Following a difficult few months, Keith Urban has publicly declared his love for wife Nicole Kidman.
Nicole Kidman was crying tear of joy when her husband declared his love for her in Sydney this week.
The pair, who shared their eighth year wedding anniversary on June 25, are clearly back on track with their relationship.
Taking the stage for his Light The Fuse tour, the 46-year-old singer bared his soul to a stunned crowd, recalling the days leading up to the pair’s wedding day.
“My wife and I – my fiancee and I – were figuring out our wedding,” he told the enthralled audience. “It was all set and we were in a hotel and talking about the future… and she started to get really worried about getting married – it’s a huge thing.
“It’s a leap of faith,” he revealed of Nicole’s insecurities. “She was scared. You wish you could show her the future… I was doing everything to reassure her I was going to be her man forever.”
And although Keith admits the pre-wedding chat was a ‘pretty rough night’ the difficult time inspired his song Once In A Lifetime.
“I wrote this song for my wife and she’s here tonight. In a world of so much darkness and toxicity and scary people, she is extraordinary, pure and a beautiful light and I love you with all my heart baby girl,” he gushed, leaving barely a dry eye in the house.
Keith and Nicole have been enjoying some time in Australia with their daughter’s Sunday, 5, and Faith, 3, joining the couple on Keith’s tour bus while he plays gigs around the country.
The timing of Keith’s loving outbursts come as he wraps up filming American Idol, the cause of strain on the pair’s relationship of late.
This year will see less strain on the pair, however, with less filming taking place and even a set visit to the pair’s home town of Nashville, ensuring the pair sticks to their rule of never being apart for more than two weeks.
“I don’t think of it as a rule,” says Keith of making time for each other.“I just don’t want to be apart– Nic’s my best friend in the whole world.
“I’m not just married to her – she’s not just my wife – that’s the person I want to be with more than anybody.”
