Nicole Kidman in shock following her dad’s sudden death

Nicole Kidman and her family are in shock following the sudden death of her father, Dr Antony Kidman.

“Nicole and her family are in shock by the sudden death of her father,” Kidman’s publicist and friend, Leslee Dart, told AAP in a statement.

“She appreciates the outpouring of support and kindly requests privacy during this very difficult time.”

There are mixed reports about how Dr Kidman died. Initial reports said the 75-year-old died suddenly after a fall, however, new reports say he suffered a heart attack.

The tragic accident took place while he was visiting his daughter Antonia in Singapore.

Dr Kidman was a well-respected Sydney psychologist and Director of the Health Psychology Unit at Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital.

Nicole’s husband, country music star Keith Urban, immediately cancelled a charity concert in the US when he heard the tragic news. He flew by private plane to be by his wife’s side.

The family are expected to fly from their home in Nashville, Tennessee to Sydney to be with Nicole’s mother, Janelle, Antonia and other friends and family.
