Cricketer Shane Warne has taken to Twitter to announce his split with his model girlfriend Emily Scott.
It seems that the whirlwind relationship between Shane, 45, and the former Playboy covergirl and DJ, Emily, 30, has come to an end after Shane posted the following announcement to his 1.7 million Twitter followers:
“Sad day as @EmilyLScott & I have gone our separate ways. We will always remain great friends & will continue to support each other”.
Keen to show that the split was amicable, Shane followed that post up with:
“@EmilyLScott Is an amazing lady, a really special person. We wish each other nothing but the best & as I said, will remain awesome friends”.
The pair had only been together for three months, with Shane initially quick to deny that the pair were an item. When rumours began circulating that the couple were an item in May, friends took to Twitter to warn the cricketer against young model Emily.

In July Shane and Emily seen looking loved up and enjoying family time with Shane’s children on a vacation together in Vegas. As recently as two weeks ago Emily posted the above picture of the pair together on Instagram for the cricketer’s birthday, writing: Happy birthday to this guy!!! @shanewarne23”.

While the reason behind the break-up has not been revealed, rumours were flying about Shane and Sophie Monk back in June when the pair were spotted on what appeared to be a date together in London.
While Sophie implied on her 2Day FM breakfast show that the two had kissed, Shane later appeared on Kyle and Jackie O’s KIIS FM radio show, where he denied that anything happened. “That’s not true,” he said. “We’ve been friends for ages”.
Sophie took to her Twitter account that same day to add to the mystery when she posted, “I don’t lie”.

Of course, the most high-profile recent relationship that Shane is known for is that which he had with Liz Hurley, who has admitted that she still has feelings for Shane. As to who he’ll move onto next? We’ll have to wait and see!
