Summer Bay favourite Andrew Morley, 25, has left Home And Away for Hollywood after a two-year stint on the show as Spencer Harrington.

“He was sad to leave the show, but he felt like it was the right time to move on,” spills an onset source.

“He finished filming late last year and will be on air until early April.

“He has an agent in Los Angeles and is currently over there for pilot season, and is hoping to pursue a successful career overseas.”

Andrew is the latest actor to leave the show in a series of shock exits. Former River Boys Lincoln Younes and Dan Ewing packed their bags last year to pursue other acting ventures, Demi Harman – who played Sasha Bezmel for three and a half years – also bid farewell to the Channel Seven drama, and just last month, fan-favourite Steve Peacocke announced he had left the show to try his luck in Hollywood with wife Bridgette Sneddon.

“Andrew has seen how successful his former Home And Away co-stars have been since leaving the show, so he felt like it was time to follow their footsteps and try his luck abroad,” tells our source.

“He flew to LA last Saturday and will spend a month overseas doing auditions, but for the most part he’ll still be living in Australia and looking for local opportunities, too.”

Andrew first arrived in Summer Bay as a teen on the run with fellow newcomer Maddy (Kassandra Clementi).

The pair portrayed on-screen lovers, and within months, their love affair had spilled over into a real-life relationship. However, much like their on-screen romance, Andrew and Kassandra’s real-life relationship eventually fizzled out, with Kassandra finding love with new partner Dr Chris Brown who is currently co-hosting I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! on Channel Ten.

“Andrew never really got over his breakup with Kassandra,” tells an insider.

“And that’s another reason why he decided to leave the show. He wanted a fresh start, both professionally and personally, and felt there was no better time than the present to make that change.”

Channel Seven are yet to announce how Andrew’s character will depart from the series.
