Former Blue Heelers star Jane Allsop has wed her childhood sweetheart of 18 years in an exotic and romantic Balinese barefoot ceremony.
Former Blue Heelers star Jane Allsop has wed her childhood sweetheart of 18 years in an exotic and romantic Balinese barefoot ceremony.
The Buddhist-style wedding took place on the bride’s birthday, marking “18 years together and 25 years since we met”, she said.
The couple’s two children Indi and Jagger were involved in the ceremony which Jane said only helped to make the wedding “even more special”.
With a picture-perfect relationship already, Jane, 39 and Dave, 42, never felt the need to get married. However, they did feel that they were continuously justifing their decision to friends and family.
“We’d say, ‘It’s nonsense! We don’t need a piece of paper to show we love each other,'” says Jane. “Even as a little girl, I never fantasised about getting married.”
But ot all came down to the kids. When Indi, 8, and Jagger, 6 started questioning them, the couple decided to give it some thought.
“One night at the dinner table the kids said, ‘Why don’t you get married?’ and 24 hours later, Dave proposed,” Jane said.
For a couple who were never interested in getting married, they sure know how to put on one beautiful wedding!

Jane felt “too old” to be given away by her father, so all four family members walked down the aisle together.
Jane’s gorgeous beohemian gown, designed by Helen Manuell, took her from beach to rice paddy!
