Two adorable new images of Prince George have been released to celebrate his first birthday.

The images shows the young prince marvelling at a butterfly during a visit to the “Sensational Butterflies” exhibition at the Natural History Museum with his parents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The pictures were taken by UK Press Association photographer, John Stillwell.

July 2013: It was the pictures the whole world was waiting to see. The little heir to the British throne was introduced to the world just days after he was born.

His proud parents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge happily showed off their little prince as they emerged from the Lindo Wing of St Marys Hospital.

August 2013: While he was welcomed into a royal family, Prince George’s first official photo was as casual as they come. The tiny Prince basked in the son as his parents smiled at the camera. The shot was taken by Catherine’s father Michael Middleton.

October 2013: Prince George was christened in a very private ceremony with just close family and friends.

The young Prince wore a replica gown made from Honiton lace and white satin. The gown is a replica of the dress worn by every British royal at their christening since 1841, now considered too delicate to use.

January 2014: Prince George first overseas holiday was a Middleton family affair! The young prince joined his mum on a holiday to the Caribbean island of Mustique. The trip was in celebration of his grandmother Carole’s 59th birthday.

March 2014: The first family photo taken by a royal photographer was released just before this royal family headed off on their first tour of Australia and New Zealand. The photo was taken by royal photographer Jason Bell.

April 2014: Prince George’s working royal life started out much like his dad Prince William’s had. Prince George accompanied his parents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their official tour of Australia and New Zealand.

The cute young royal spent his first official royal engagement playing with children of the same age at a child care centre in New Zealand.

Prince George enjoyed his first trip to the zoo during while in Australia.

Prince George came up close to his first bliby during his visit to Taronga zoo in Sydney during the royal tour.

June 2014: Duchess Catherine had hinted that George was about to start walking in several interviews. But the pictures came while she and her son watch Prince William play a charity polo match. George was seen on the sideline walking up and down, holding tight to his mother’s hand.

Easy does it! Prince George was very active as he walked and crawled along the sidelines of his father’s polo match.
