In the lead up to Australia day, it’s time to celebrate the Aussie stars who’ve done us proud internationally – there’s certainly no shortage of them!
The great thing about seeing kids from the bush turn into international superstars is that it inspires the next generation of Aussies to know that they too can acheive anything they put their minds to.
While we are proud to see our own doing well on an international platform, it’s even more humbling to see them keep the down-to-earth attitude we’re famous for, even when taking home Golden Globes. We’re looking at you, Cate Blanchett!

Another Muriel’s Wedding star, these days Rachel Griffiths is best known for her roles on US television with roles in Six Feet Under and Brother and Sisters earning her a Golden Globe and two SAG Awards.
The Aussie boy Simon Baker is now known for stealing hearts internationally with roles in The Guardian and The Mentalist.
Of course, no list of international Aussie superstars would be complete without mentioning Dame Edna Everage who’s been going strong for 60 years and is as close as Australia gets to actual royalty!
