Julia Roberts goes back to work just days after the death of her mum

Less than a week after the devastating death of her mother, Julia Roberts has headed back to work.

The Academy Award winning actress lost her mother, Betty Lou Bredemus to lung cancer on February  19.

Ever the professional, Julia was back on set the following Monday for her upcoming film The Secret In Their Eyes.

The pain is no doubt still fresh for the 47-year-old, who has had a tough year, after losing her half-sister Nancy Motes to a drug overdose last February.

Betty had been battling the disease since November 2013 after discovering the tumour during a routine check-up.

Julia was joined on set by co-star Nicole Kidman, who has also recently experienced the pain of losing a parent. Nicole lost her father Dr Antony Kidman, five months ago after he suffered a heart attack while visiting her sister Antonia in Singapore.

Nicole was extremely close to her father.

“We are all heartbroken but knowing we are in the hearts and thoughts of others is so comforting. Sending love, Nic and Keith xx,” she said on Facebook following his death.

Nicole and Julia’s new film is a remake of a 2009 Argentine thriller. It also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, who is said to be the romantic lead opposite Nicole.

Julia Roberts is back at work less than a week after losing her mum to lung cancer. Staring alongside her in the film ‘The Secret in Their Eyes’ is Australian actress Nicole Kidman.

It has been an exceptionally hard 12 months for Julia, who also lost her sister a year ago to drug overdose.

Julia’s costars are Nicole Kidman and Chiwetel Ejiofor who presented at this year’s Oscars.

Julia tapped into her emotions to film this difficult scene. The actress, crying is comforted by Chiwetel Ejiofor’s character.

Julia, Nicole and Chiwetel are staring in the American remake of Argentian film ‘The Secret in Their Eyes’, which took home the 2010 Oscar for best foreign film!
