After a busy day of visits from adoring family members, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have taken their little prince George to Berkshire to stay with the Middletons.
It’s believed that Kate will stay with her mother and father for six weeks as she gets to grips with being a new mum. William will remain by her side until he returns to his RAF job following two weeks’ paternity leave.
Little Prince George was welcomed by a jubilant world yesterday, and his delighted granny the Queen, uncle Prince Harry, aunt Pippa and uncle James Middleton – who all visited Kensington Palace to meet their new family member.
And after spending their first day and night at home as a family, William and Kate left the palace by car, with Wills in the passenger seat and Kate in the back with their bundle of joy, smiling broadly and waving to cheering crowds.
While the palace would not confirm where the family was going, there has been heightened police security around the small village of Bucklebury and the Middletons’ mansion there.
Eyewitnesses also report seeing the couple’s black Land Rover pulling up at the family’s home.
Carole and Michael Middleton were the first to arrive at St. Mary’s hospital to visit their daughter after she gave birth, the excited new grandmother telling reporters the baby was “absolutely beautiful”.
When asked how it felt cuddling her grandson for the first time, a beaming Carole said, “Amazing, It’s all coming back. We are absolutely thrilled.”
