Duchess Catherine cancels another appearance due to morning sickness

Poor Catherine! Just when we thought the worst was finally over, the Duchess of Cambridge has been forced to pull out of more royal engagements due to her struggles with ongoing severe morning sickness.

The pregnant royal was looking forward to resuming her official duties over the coming weeks, but unfortunately those plans have now been put on the backburner.

Catherine, who was due to appear at an event in London organised by The Art Room, a charity that uses art therapy to help disadvantaged children, was apparently too unwell to attend and had to cancel at the last minute.

Woman’s Day hears Her Royal Highness felt so bad that she couldn’t be there that she sent a heartfelt apology note.

“I wanted to share my congratulations with you all for the launch of the new Clore Art Room,” the 32-year-old wrote.

“I am truly sorry that I cannot be with you all today as you celebrate this milestone. As patron of The Art Room I feel great pride to see the work that the charity is doing. Vulnerable children flourish in the safe havens that The Art Room provides; this highlights just how important it is to support children at a time when they most need help and support.”

Poor Duchess Catherine has been laying low since the Palace announced in September that the royal couple are expecting their second child. As with her first pregnancy, Catherine is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum which can result in prolonged and severe nausea, vomiting, dehydration, weight loss and low blood pressure.

Her illness has meant that she’s had to miss out on some recent royal engagements, including the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games which was organised by her brother-in-law Prince Harry.

She also had to cancel her first solo trip to Malta, where she was due to represent the Queen. Luckily though, her devoted husband Prince William went in her place.

Meanwhile, betting on the increasing likelihood of Catherine and William welcoming twins has suddenly been suspended, and it’s sent the rumour mill into overdrive.
