Prince George attends the Queen’s pre-Christmas family gathering

Prince George was the little guest of honour at his great-grandmother’s pre-Christmas lunch.

The rosy-cheeked toddler joined his parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and extended family members for a fabulous feast fit for royalty at Buckingham palace this week.

In keeping with tradition, the Queen hosted the annual festive get-together just days before she leaves for Sandringham where she and Prince Phillip will spend the holidays.

While a pregnant Catherine stunned in a recycled classic Katherine Hooker red dress and dazzling earrings in the shape of a Christmas tree, her husband Prince William looked  very handsome in a classic navy suit and glasses as he chauffeured his wife to the annual event.

The couple’s 16-month-old son, who is excited to be celebrating his second Christmas, rolled up in a separate vehicle shortly after with his nanny and was seen clutching a colourful children’s book and adorably peering through the dark windows.

Other royal guests included, Prince Charles, Princess Beatrice, Duke of Kent and his granddaughter Lady Marina-Charlotte Windsor, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and their daughter Lady Gabriella Windsor.

And what’s a party without Harry? Wearing a navy blue suit and tie, the dapper Prince also attended the lavish annual Christmas luncheon.

The royal family are said to have made the most of their time together, proving that when it comes to enjoying the holidays and making the most of what the day is really all about, they’re certainly no exception.

Come Christmas day, Prince William, Duchess Catherine and little Prince George will wake up at their family home of Anmer Hall.

It is there that they will spend Christmas morning before attending the Queen’s estate of Sandringham, as is the royal tradition, however they will head back to their home after lunch, to spend time with Catherine’s family.
