Gorgeous Prince George steals the show at Taronga Zoo

A very vocal baby Prince George has spent his first Easter at Taronga Zoo in Sydney with his parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The adorable nine-month-old screamed with delight as he met the bilby named in his honour at the zoo’s bilby enclosure named after Prince George as part of Australia’s gift following his birth on July 22 last year.

The event marked the baby Prince’s first royal engagement in Australia since he arrived with his parents on Wednesday.

The Zoo tweeted at 1.30pm that the zoo had reached capacity with thousands cramming in to catch a glimpse of the cute occasion.

Large crowds started building at the zoo overnight before reaching capacity this morning.

The royals were presented with a soft toy of a bilby to take home with them, much to the delight of the little future king who promptly took the toy from his mother and playfully threw it to the ground.

Catherine was quick to pick it up and thanked the zoo staff for the thoughtful gift.

The little Prince was then taken back to Admiralty House while his parents took in more of the sights at the Zoo including the kangaroo enclosure and the native bird enclosure.
