Queen’s new portrait marks 88th birthday

A new portrait of Her Majesty The Queen has been released, marking her 88th birthday.

The portrait (show on the right), taken by renowned British photographer David Bailey, has been released to mark the Queen’s birthday on April 21.

The photograph was taken at Buckingham Palace in March  this year and shows the Queen wearing pearls and a dress by Ms Angela Kelly, who has served as Personal Assistant and Senior Dresser to The Queen since 2002.

The portrait was commissioned on behalf of the British Government’s GREAT Britain campaign which aims to generate jobs and highlights Britain as a world-class destination for trade, tourism, investment and education.
