Princess Diana’s brother: “Royal family won’t last 100 years”

Charles Spencer, Diana’s younger brother, has declared that he believes the monarchy will crumble before the century is out.

Earl Spencer, 50, claims that while he believes the royals are safe for now, due to the immense popularity of Prince William – the second-in-line to the throne and Duchess Catherine, he believes that Britain will soon tire of the monarchy in general.

The Queen’s royal family affair!

“William’s popular, so the throne is secure for the next generation,” Charles said

Then he added. “Maybe in 100 years things will change.”

The author and broadcaster stated the controversial views during an interview in the United States while on tour for his new book about royal history: Killers Of The King: The Men Who Dared To Execute Charles I.

Monarchy bombshell: Duchess Catherine to be Queen!

The Earl tied his opinion of the current monarchy back to the reigning monarchs of the past as detailed in his book: “Charles I’s murder brought a reduced monarchy plus the idea you could actually stand against the king.”

Charles added: “We went ten years without a king.”

Notably, the Earl avoided mentioning his former brother-in-law though – Prince Charles, the next in line to the throne.

With the Queen celebrating her Diamond Jubilee two years ago to immense celebrations both in Britain internationally, it seems to us that the monarchy is stronger than ever! Who knows though what the future will bring.
