Sarah Ferguson the Duchess of York has passionately defended her ex-husband during an interview on the US Today show.
Sarah slammed all reports that her former husband had sexual relations with an underage girl, labelling them as “salacious lies” and defended him as a “humongously good man”.
While Sarah was on the show to discuss her weight loss, interviewer Matt Lauer questioned her about the allegations by Virginia Roberts who claims she was a “sex slave” for the prince.
For a second time, Sarah has adamantly defended Prince Andrew’s character, saying she would stand by “my best friend and my best ex-husband ever”.
“I will have not one word said about him on any level, any level,” she said.
Shortly after the allegations were made, Buckingham Palace released a statement denying the claims saying they were “false and without foundation”. Sarah reiterated the strong denial from the palace saying “we stand by that denial.”
“I want to stand by him, because I know what it feels like to have salacious lies made up about you,” she said, calling the claims “just shockingly accusatory allegations.”
She went on to describe Prince Andrew as “a great father” while addressing “all the work he does for Britain”.
“I won’t stand by and let his character be defamed to this level,” she said.
Sarah previously defended her ex while on a skiing holiday in Verbier, Switzerland.
The pair divorced in 1996 but have remained close friends and a tight family unit.
Meanwhile, Virginia’s journal entries during the time she spent with Prince Andrew have been released. She claims she was flown to London at age 17 to meet Prince Andrew by her “master” Jeffery Epstein, whom she alleges leant her to his rich pals around the world.
Virginia’s journal entry recounts the evening she allegedly met the Prince in London.
“The prince’s attention towards me amplified… making eye contact at every given chance and concentrating at my plunging V-neck top. We later made an appearance at Club Tramp in the VIP section where Andrew did not hesitate to grab us both an alcoholic cocktail. We took a few sips, then headed for the dance floor,” she writes.
“He was the most incredibly hideous dancer I had ever seen and not to mention how embarrassing it was to have to be the one he was smashing pelvics with, even if he was a prince.”
Since the allegations against Prince Andrew were revealed on January 5, the palace has strongly denied any wrongdoing on his part.
