The royals, along with the rest of the world, are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s second child, and Duchess Catherine may have just revealed that she is expecting a baby girl.
A heavily pregnant Catherine was spotted shopping in Chelsea at one of her favourite stores, Amaia recently where observers noticed she was particularly drawn to the baby girl’s section.
Co-owner of the store, Segolene Tresca told PEOPLE that like most mums, the Duchess was ‘very interested’ in the girls wear.
“Every mum that comes in the shop, they look for boys’ [clothes] but they always end up looking at the girls’ stuff too. We all hope it’s a little girl because it will be so cute, they will be like a little couple,” She said.
Duchess Catherine made one of her final appearances before the birth of her second child, in Westminster Abbey for the annual Commonwealth Day Service recently. The expectant mum was dressed pretty in pink and positively glowing, with some believing the royal is dropping us some clues!
There’s been no official word on the gender of Prince George’s sibling with the palace telling E!News that “the couple do not know what the sex of the baby is!”
We do know that Prince William and Prince Charles would adore a baby girl!
Last year while Prince Charles was at an event for his charity, The Prince’s Trust, where he spoke about wanting a granddaughter.
The royal grandfather chatted to well-wisher Corey Johnsonwho He congratulated him on becoming a grandfather.
“I am already!” The Prince told Corey.
“But it’s wonderful to have another one. I’m happy I’m going to be a grandfather again. I’m looking forward to it – but I hope it will be a girl this time.” Charles added.
During her first pregnancy with Prince George, Duchess Catherine shared with other well-wishers that while she wanted a baby boy, her husband wanted a girl!
In the past Prince Harry has joked about what it would be like for his brother if he had to raise a daughter. Prince William’s younger brother said with glee that, after being raised in a family of boys, the future king is daunted at the thought of raising a daughter.
“He’ll suffer,” joked Harry. “I’d love to see him cope with that.”
No matter whether it’s a boy or a girl – one thing’s for sure, little Prince George will be THRILLED about having a younger sibling to play with! Prince Harry also said: “I think George will be thrilled about having a brother or sister.”
Despite the royals staying mum on the impending birth, we can’t wait to meet the healthy new addition to the royal family!
