MKR: It was all set up!

MKR fake finals scandal!

If you think My Kitchen Rules is unstaged and authentic, you’re in for a big surprise!

Despite the show being pre-recorded, MKR’s winning team only found out they’d nabbed the grand prize at the same time as the rest of the nation – because two endings were taped! In a shock twist, it turns out the joy, the disappointment, and the “surprise” reactions we saw were all fake, set up by producers. In a bid to ensure the winner is kept under wraps until the show airs, alternative endings are filmed.

“After we applaud and cheer, the contestants leave set while the confetti is swept up and the cameras are reset,” explains a past contestant. “We then do it all over again for the other finalist couple.” “Contestants leave having absolutely no idea who has won until the finale goes to air,” reveals a set-insider. “It sometimes has to be filmed over and over, so the emotion looks real and not staged.”

Angela and Melina

Angela and Melina put up a united front against their arch enemies Sophia and Ashlee, but now, it’s a very different story. “They are no longer friends,” reveals an insider. “They had a huge bust-up after filming finished, which is a shame because these two were so close at the start.”

Josh and Andi

Some of this year’s standout contestants didn’t even apply to be on the show! “MKR talent scouts saw a quirky looking guy at the Perth airport and asked if he could cook,” a source tells Woman’s Day. “The guy said he couldn’t cook, but that his friend Andi, who was also at the airport, could. And so became Josh and Andi!”
