Channing Tatum talks dirty dancing in Magic Mike XXL

After announcing the release of the upcoming sequel to his smash-hit stripper movie Magic Mike, Channing Tatum has said there’ll be more dancing than ever – and his wife helped choreograph it all!

Jenna Dewan-Tatum, 33, who gave birth to the couple’s first child, Everly, last year is of course a professional dancer herself who has danced for Janet Jackson and ‘N Sync among others. Jenna reportedly paid several visits to the set and got to see hubby Channing practice his moves.

“Our two choreographers on the movie, they’re really, really good friends [with Jenna],”Channing, 34, revealed to Glamour.

“So I work it out with them and then I go show Jenna for approval.”

Channing still gets embarrassed about his amateur moves in front of his professional wife though! Speaking in an interview on the US Today Show he said: “I do show her [my moves], but I don’t love dancing in front of her, because she’s such an amazing dancer.”

We’re sure there are plenty of fans who are pretty happy with Channing’s moves as they are! They’ll be happy to hear that there’s apparently lots more of those moves on show in the new film too.

“This is the Super Bowl version of what the first one was,” Channing told Today. “I’m dancing probably five times as much in this one.”

Channing’s wife Jenna told the New York Post: “The women and the men of the world are going to be thanking him. It’s giving you everything you want and more in a sequel.” she teased.

The sequel to the smash-hit stripper film will feature Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez and Gabriel Iglesias – all reprising their roles from the first film. Saddly though, there will be no Alex Pettyfer or Matthew McConaughey who were in the first film but chose not to reprise their roles in the second one.

As to the plot? The film’s producers state that:

“Picking up the story three years after Mike bowed out of the stripper life at the top of his game, Magic Mike XXL finds the remaining Kings of Tampa likewise ready to throw in the towel.

“But they want to do it their way: burning down the house in one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach, and with legendary headliner Magic Mike sharing the spotlight with them.

“On the road to their final show, with whistle stops in Jacksonville and Savannah to renew old acquaintances and make new friends, Mike and the guys learn some new moves and shake off the past in surprising ways.”

Hmm, we can’t wait to see the whole cast and crew bust a move onstage again!

Channing posted the Instagram above last week announcing the release of the upcoming Magic Mike sequel.
