Ellen DeGeneres spoofs George and Amal

Ellen DeGeneres Amal Clooney

Ellen DeGeneres has had a laugh at the expense of George and Amal Clooney in a spoof video on her TV show.

Ellen who is a notorious prankster, inserted herself into a clip of newlyweds George and Amal at this week’s Golden Globes.

George was giving his now-famous touching speech in which he gushed over his new wife Amal Clooney on stage while accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Meanwhile, Ellen delicately inserted herself into the clip, dressed up to the nines in Golden Globes bling and sitting alongside Amal in the audience, where she sipped champagne and listened to George’s speech.

As George swooned: “It’s a humbling thing when you find someone to love,” Ellen smiled and looked flattered and humbled.

It’s towards the end of the clip though that Ellen apparently realises the speech is not about her – when she reacts rather hilariously! Watch the video above to see what happens!

George, 53, tied the knot with the international human-rights barrister Amal, 36, in a grand ceremony in Venice in September last year, and ever since they have been one of the most high-profile couples in Hollywood.

During the awards ceremony, the show’s presenters Tina Fey and Amy Poehler also poked fun at notorious bachelor George and his newfound marital status in their opening speech:

“George Clooney married Amal Alamuddin this year.

Amal is a human rights lawyer who worked on the Enron case, was an adviser to Kofi Annan regarding Syria, and was selected to a three-person U.N. commission investigating rules of war violations in the Gaza Strip.

So tonight, her husband is getting a lifetime achievement award.”

Haha, it’s a good thing George is able to have a good laugh at his own expense!
