After what everyone thought was the final instant restaurant and a sad farewell for Victorian oyster farmers Matt and Rob, cheeky guest judge Colin dropped his bombshell on the remaining teams.

MKR Scandal: Pete Evans walks out!

“I’m about to throw the cat amongst the pigeons. I’ve been rounding up my own group of home cooks. A group that is dedicated, passionate and motivated to win,” Colin said.

“We’re about to head off on our own instant restaurant round. And when we’re done we’ll be back to really shake things up.”

Lynn and Tony – The two Queenslanders originally hailed from South Africa and are like the Manu and Pete of competitors – Lynn’s into paleo while Tony prefers his comfort food but they both share the same passion for cooking.

Rob and Dave – neighbours and good mates from Queensland, the pair have watched their kids grow up together and share a combined love of fishing and dinner parties – but just don’t ask them to bake a spongecake! Rob admits dessert is their weak point.

Will and Steve – these two lads both hail from Britain by way of New South Wales and met after they both transferred to Oz within a month of each other. While they both share a love of food and soccer, so far their only experience cooking together is making sandwiches in the work kitchen so their journey could be interesting!

Husband and wife team Drasko and Bianca hail from WA and bring with them a very multicultural palate. There’s Serbian food influences (like roast pig on a spit) from Drasko’s side while Bianca’s background includes Burmese and Portuguese heritage.

Jane and Emma are the ultimate odd-couple flatmates from Victoria who’ve been good friends since high school. Emma’s the messy one who’s most interested in the savoury courses while Jane is the neat freak who’s specialty is dessert.

Katie and Nikki are uni mates from NSW who surprise everyone when they tell them they both specialise in butchery. Nikki grew up with a butcher dad and specialises in Croatian favourites while her pal Katie initially had trepidations about handling meat when she first started working in a butcher’s shop but has now got into experimenting with different flavours and marinates.
