Freezing pavlova shells

Monday, May 12, 2008

Woman's Day Food Director Jennene Plummer answers your questions about all things food.

Question

"Can I freeze a Pavlova shell?"
— Tina

Answer

No, Pavlova shells will not freeze. However, you can make them in advance and store them in a freezer bag with all air removed. Seal well and place in an airtight container — they will last for up to 1 week.

If the meringue has crumbled by the time you want to use it, crush it up and mix it into some whipped cream with mixed berries — delicious!
