Despite having a life-long fear of getting her hair cut, adorable Ariana, 3, decided to give hers the chop and donate the locks to charity, after learning that some other children, like her, can lose their hair because of “medicine”.
Ariana’s dad, Josh Smith posted pictures to his Imgur Account of his little girl getting a trim and explaining the story behind it as:
“My 3yr old daughter saw a little girl without hair and asked why she was bald
I explained she was sick and the medicine made her hair fall out
Without a breath she said, ‘Oh. She can have some of my hair.’”
Bravely facing up to the hairdressers chair, Ariana had ten inches of her hair trimmed off and has donated it to the charity “Locks of Love”, that will see that it goes to a child with medical hair loss.
Speaking to America’s ABC News, her father Josh said: “She is a typical little kid, but if she sees somebody in need, she certainly nurtures them.”
“This made Ariana feel special, and she’d definitely like to do it again.”
The images have only been up for four days but have already gone viral with over 660,000 views.
While many adults too, are scared of anyone touching their locks, little Ariana could perhaps teach a few grown-ups a lesson about selflessness!
