Aussie cricket team gear up for emotional Test in memory of Phil Hughes

As Australia gears up for the first Test against India, spectators will be asked to stand for 63 seconds before the game in memory the late Phillip Hughes.

Hundreds of cricket lovers are expected to flock to Adelaide Oval today to watch Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke lead his team out onto the field in honour of their 13th man and forever team mate to play what will certainly be the toughest match of their lives.

While the devastated squad continues to come to terms with the tragic death of the much-loved batsman, ‘Huey’ as they called him, will no doubt be in their thoughts.

Michael Clarke’s emotional tribute to Phillip Hughes

The 25-year-old died after suffering a severe head injury when he was struck in the back of the head by a bouncer during a Sheffield Shield match.

Earlier today, Michael’s wife Kyly shared a heartfelt tribute, posting a team photo and words via Instagram.
