Rolf Harris in jailhouse brawl

Convicted paedophile Rolf Harris has reportedly sparked a jailhouse brawl after being targeted by fellow inmates. The attack comes just days after he is said to have lodged an appeal against his convictions.

Harris, 84, was sentenced last month, to five years and nine months in jail for sexually abusing four young girls over a period of almost 20 years.

The disgraced former entertainer was attending a church service at the prison chapel at the men’s correctional facility HMP Bullingdon in Oxfordshire when an inmate spat at him.

Reportedly, the prisoner missed, hitting another inmate and that’s when a brawl broke out.

A source told UK’s The Sun:  “One prisoner called Rolf a dirty nonce and spat at him.”

The witness continued: “All the others were jeering too, but the spit landed on the bloke next to Rolf, who went berserk.”

Rolf apparently cowered while the fight broke out: “Rolf stood in a corner while the other prisoner was taken to a segregation unit. Then he just sat back down. He was shaken up, but didn’t let on.”

The prison row comes as Harris prepares to appeal the 12 indecent assault convictions against him with which he was charged.

A spokesperson for the UK Judicial Office confirmed Rolf’s lawyers have lodged papers to British authorities this week to appeal the convictions.

The UK Court of Appeal will now consider whether to grant him the permission for his appeal bid to proceed.
