Thai surrogate: ‘Wendy Farnell isn’t Gammy’s biological mother’

Thai surrogate Pattaramon Chanbua is claiming Wendy Farnell is not Gammy or Pipah’s biological mother.

Pattaramon, known as Goy, alleges the eggs implanted into her were not supplied by Mrs Farnell the Chinese-born Australian woman at the centre of the surrogacy scandal.

“Yes, the sperm came from [Mr Farnell] but the egg did not belong to the Chinese woman,” Ms Chanbuatold Fairfax Media.

“They are not really related with the baby… I am not really sure they will give real love to Gammy’s sister.”

Ms Chanbua made the new claims following David and Wendy Farnell’s interview on 60 Minutes last night.

Under Thai law, Ms Chanbua is the lawful mother of 6-month-old Gammy, who was born prematurely with Down syndrome and other health issues.

Ms Chanbuasays she held back from revealing the new information earlier “because I didn’t want to hurt people”.

However, she says she now feels pressured to speak out after the Farnells said they didn’t abandon their son and want to bring Gammy back to Australia.

“When the pressure is too great, I will come out to fight for my family,” Ms Chanbua says.
