Police have made the tough decision to scale back their search for missing toddler William Tyrell, who vanished from his grandmother’s mid-north coast home in NSW ten days ago.
On Sunday, authorities confirmed that emergency crews have stopped looking for the three-year-old in surrounding bushland, where it was believed he may have wandered, and will now look into whether or not “human intervention” could be the reason behind his disappearance.
William was last seen dressed in a Spider-Man suit playing on the balcony of his grandmother’s house in Kendall at about 10.30am on Friday September 12.
For the last ten days, more than 70 police and volunteers have participated in a large-scale search operation scouring an area covering almost 50 square kilometres.
Despite non-stop search efforts, emergency services have not been able to detect any sign of William.

On Saturday, the child’s family released a heartfelt statement thanking those involved in the search and expressed their hope that he would soon be found.
“William is only three years and three-months-old and really still a baby,” wrote the Tyrell’s.
“He has so many more years to live and we desperately want him home.”
