The once-shy singer has a new look, a new tour and a new lease on life.
Karise Eden hums with happiness as she flaunts her post-baby body for the first time since giving birth to son her one-year-old son Blayden, who she shares with partner Jason.
“I’m feeling pretty confident in my body at the moment,” she says with a smile after shedding 21kg in 12 months.
“My body changed when I became a mum but now when I look in the mirror I think, ‘Hey hot mama! You’re looking good,” laughs the singer songwriter who won The Voice in 2012.
“I’m proud of my tiger stripes (stretch marks) on my tummy. That was my son’s home once," says the 23-year-old, who put on 30 kilos during her pregnancy.
“I went from being a tiny size six and 55 kilos to 85 kilos. I didn’t want to refuse my body from cravings or starve the baby in my body."
"It’s important to be a woman and to love all your inches when carrying a child so I didn’t stick to any diet plan and I gave my body time to relax after giving birth.”
Meanwhile, after a few rocky years adjusting to the perils of instant fame after winning The Voice, Karise is finally back on tour releasing her new album Things I’ve done.
“I’m so excited about it. It’s nice and intimate, just how I like it.”
