Nigella Lawson made quite a statement when she stepped out in this figure-hugging red dress, so much so that the British store which stocks the dress has sold out of her style choice.
The British TV foodie, 54, was in New York promoting her US cookery show The Taste along with fellow celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain when she stepped out in the red “wiggle” dress.
Nigella loves her fitted figure-hugging outfits – and it seems that the public do too! After she was spotted wearing the dress from British retailer “Diva Catwalk”, shoppers inundated the brand’s online store, hoping to snap up a piece of Nigella’s style, causing the site to go “into meltdown”.
While that particular colour, priced at $252 (£135) is no longer available, fans of the look can still shop the frock – known as the ‘Catherine’ dress in numerous other colours from the store’s website.
“She only has to wear a dress once for there to be a deluge in orders. We call it the Nigella factor,” A spokesperson from Diva Catwalk told The Mail on Sunday.
“This week we were inundated with calls and internet orders when she wore the Catherine dress, which sold out immediately. Our phone lines and internet have gone into meltdown.”

While other British celebrities have been seen wearing designs by the label, the spokesperson from Diva Catwalk says that: “Only Nigella gets the phone ringing off the hook.”
“It’s because she always looks so amazing and our dresses flatter her in all the right places.”
Nigella is of course famous for flaunting her curves, but it seems that she may have gone a bit far last week when wearing a fitted baby blue number, also by the same store, Diva Catwalk. She tweeted to her followers afterwards that she was “mortified” for having shown more cleavage than she realised.
Nonetheless, Nigella’s stint in the US makes a triumphant return for the “domestic goddess” after in-court allegations of her drug use from her divorce proceedings with former-husband Charles Saatchi last year threatened to see her banned from ever visiting the country again.
Nigella though has been showing how she’s moving onwards and upwards as she moves on from the messy marriage and focuses on her career.
