Keith Urban’s promise to Nicole Kidman: I’ll SAVE your son!

Nicole Kidman thought she’d lost her son Connor Cruise forever – until her husband Keith Urban stepped in.

Still helping repair his wife’s broken heart over the sudden and tragic death of her father, Keith has achieved the one thing Nic wants most in the world – to get her whole family back together.

It’s no secret that Connor, who turns 20 this week, and his sister Isabella, 22, chose to live with Tom after their parents’ divorce in 2001. But in an extraordinary olive-branch moment, Keith has coaxed Connor to come home.

On the table is an offer for the young DJ to remix any of 47-year-old Keith’s country songs, which are consistent chart-toppers in the US. And Woman’s Day understands Connor has jumped at the chance.

“He felt like he never had the chance to connect with Keith and this is the perfect opportunity,” a source tells US OK! magazine.

Connor has been touring the world working as a DJ, but now he’s ready to come home to Nicole.

Understandably, though, it’s Nicole, 47, who’s most over the moon about her two boys forging a new friendship.

“Family is everything to Nicole and she’s always wanted her son and Keith to have more of a bond,” says a source, who adds Keith’s under strict instructions to encourage Connor even if he doesn’t like the remix.

It’s been tough for Nicole to watch helplessly as her son partied in America surrounded by “yes men” and hanging out with “the wrong crowd”.

While the family is still reeling from the shock loss of Nicole’s dad Antony Kidman, who died after a heart attack last September, she now has renewed determination to mend family rifts – and Keith’s leading the charge.

It seems Connor will thankfully come around to the same philosophy. “My family means everything to me,” he told Woman’s Day last year.

“I love my music but my family comes before anything else.”
